Does it hurt a drug addict to help them get off drugs? Yes. Withdrawal is painful.

Does it hurt the alcoholic to help them give up drinking? Yes. The DTs are mentally and physically painful.

Do Christians want to hurt homosexual people? No. Do they want to help? Yes.

If what homosexuals are doing was good and right, could they be hurt by Christians telling them it was wrong? No. Being told you are doing something wrong only hurts if, you know the truth is that you are doing something wrong.

I just finished watching a video about Christianity in China. Christians are a small minority, there are only about 70 million in China. It's not unusual for a Christian leader to have been in jail five or more times because of their beliefs. They are severely persecuted, beaten, their homes destroyed and they constantly told that what they doing is wrong (and they are legally forbidden from practicing their faith). Yet were these Christians feeling bad for themselves (as homosexuals do)? No! They were constantly celebrating in their persecution, literally singing songs of praise and joy. Homosexuals in America have it easy compared with Chinese Christians, and the persecution of Chinese Christians does not take away their happiness or joy in who they are--because they know they have the truth.

It is not persecution that takes away a person's happiness and self-esteem, it is truth that takes it away. We are not being loving toward someone if we hide the truth that will save them. The truth that will take away their pain.
